ALX Africa is a pan-African charitable organisation founded in 2018 that provides technical education, professional skills training, and entrepreneurship support to young people across the continent. Registered in Mauritius, it operates hubs across eight African cities and has served over 285,000 learners since 2021.
The organisation offers programmes spanning data science, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and creative technology disciplines. Technical training is paired with the Professional Foundations programme, which develops soft skills alongside technical competency. In 2021, ALX acquired Holberton to strengthen its curriculum offerings.
Beyond classroom instruction, ALX operates two complementary initiatives. ALX Ventures incubates early-stage entrepreneurs, currently supporting over 12,000 young business founders. ALX Pathway provides pathways to international university scholarships, with awards up to $85,000 enabling access to higher education for eligible learners.
The organisation aims to empower 2 million Africans to secure sustainable technology careers by 2030, positioning itself as a movement to unlock potential across the continent's workforce.
