Role Overview

This role leads a government‑facing engagement to design a comprehensive, system‑wide AI policy and assurance framework for schools. The work spans governance architecture, regulatory alignment, inspection logic, competency standards, and implementation enablement. It requires senior judgment, international benchmarking capability, and the ability to translate complex policy and governance principles into clear, actionable system‑level frameworks. The focus is advisory and design‑led, with no technology deployment responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end governance and policy architecture across all project deliverables

  • Design technology‑related standards and competency frameworks for system‑level adoption

  • Develop a system‑wide AI policy for schools, including roles, controls, non‑negotiables, and compliance logic

  • Create an inspection framework covering inspection criteria, evidence requirements, and scoring rubrics

  • Produce a Graduates’ Fluency Assessment blueprint aligned with national and international benchmarks

  • Co‑design enablement components such as inspector training, school playbooks, and implementation toolkits

  • Ensure inclusion‑focused adaptations for People of Determination

  • Facilitate structured stakeholder workshops, validation sessions, and expert consultations

  • Provide senior review, quality assurance, and final sign‑off support for all outputs

  • Align all frameworks with global standards, regulatory expectations, and best‑practice assurance models

Candidate Profile

  • PhD or equivalent senior expertise in policy, governance, education systems, AI ethics, or emerging technology regulation

  • Strong publication and/or advisory record in AI governance, digital trust, risk frameworks, or education policy

  • Demonstrated experience working with governments, regulators, or international organisations

  • Proven ability to lead structured workshops, multi‑stakeholder engagements, and high‑trust advisory processes

  • Deep understanding of system‑level policy design, assurance logic, and evidence‑based evaluation frameworks

  • Comfortable operating in environments requiring senior judgment, discretion, and strategic clarity
