Founded in 2017 through the merger of three Farm Credit associations and headquartered in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, the company reported total assets of $31.9 billion and serves roughly 74,000 member-owners across 144 counties in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. It employs nearly 1,400 people from more than 40 office locations.
Its lending and financial operations span agricultural loans, farm loans, rural home loans, leasing and risk management solutions. Work is concentrated in the areas of agricultural lending, financial services, risk management and leasing, serving the agriculture, farming, ranching and agribusiness sectors as well as rural communities more broadly.
As a member-owned Farm Credit cooperative, Compeer Financial states a mission of championing the hopes and dreams of rural America. It dedicates 1% of annual net earnings to rural communities through grants, scholarships and larger donations. Team members are given paid volunteer leave, and the company operates matching donation programmes.
